Frome Museum is run entirely by volunteers and a wide range of interesting volunteering opportunities are available.
No museum experience is required and full training is given.
We know that many people lead very busy lives so we have opportunities that are very flexible.
Some are particularly suitable for those who have children or other caring responsibilities.
We also have opportunities for those who have museum, library, educational, research, administrative or other relevant experience or interests and are perhaps taking a career break, have recently moved to the area or who are retired.
Interested? Please do contact us by leaving a comment below or e-mailing us at info@frome-heritage-museum.org.
We would love to hear from you.
Hello, I am a year 10 student at Frome College and I am currently looking for a work experience placement between 2nd July to the 6th. I was wondering if you take on students as i am interested in the museum as a placement. Also do you have Employer Liability Insurance?
Many thanks,
Isabella Davis
Dear Isabella,
Good to hear of your interest in Frome Museum.
We run a programme of work experience for students in year 11 and 12. This has a research focus aimed at 6th form students applying for university / building their portfolios of work.
For GCSE students we welcome visits by groups. If you are interested please ask your tutor to contact us. Museum Trustee Barry Edwards is responsible for our schools / colleges activities and I have emailed him about your interest.
Wishing you all success in your chosen career.
Kind Regards,
Dr Emma Robinson – Chair Frome Heritage Museum
